The MSJC beach volleyball team continued action last week as they came up just short of earning a couple of conference victories.
The Eagles traveled to San Diego Mesa last Wednesday for a busy day, as they took on Mt. SAC, Grossmont, and Mesa. The Eagles dropped all three matches, but nearly scored a victory over Grossmont as they fell in that one 3-2. In that Grossmont match, Alicia Vasquez and Luci Villafana earned a 21-19, 21-15 victory for the Eagles in the #2 match and Iris Del Valle and Audrey Underwood won in the #5 match 21-18 and 21-15. Vasquez and Villafana also picked up a win over Mt. Sac on Wednesday as they won in three sets 21-13, 17-21, and 15-8.
On Friday the Eagles traveled to Coast Volleyball Club where they once again took on Mesa as well as San Diego City. MSJC fell 5-0 to Mesa, and came up just short against City 3-2. Vasquez and Villafana continued their hot streak as they picked up another win. Underwood this time teamed with Marina Eddolls to pick up the Eagles other point in the match.
This week the Eagles travel to Grossmont to take on the Griffons as well as San Deigo City. After a trip to Palomar on April 15th, the Eagles will host their final regular season match on Friday the 22nd in Menifee.
