The MSJC baseball team could manage just one win in their three game series with San Bernardino Valley this past week, winning on the road Friday, but dropping a pair of home games Tuesday and Saturday.

In the series opener at MSJC on Tuesday the Eagles fell 7-2 despite a strong starting pitching effort from Steven Silvas who went 7 innings allowing just one earned run.  The wolverines broke the game open in the top of the 8th with 4 runs to secure the victory.  Joseph Hauck and Gavin Gates both had two hits for MSJC with Gates and Rigo Cano each driving in a run.  The second game of the series was delayed from Thursday to Friday, but the Eagles responded with a road win 8-3.  Carson McCafferty hit a homerun and drove in a pair of runs in the victory for MSJC.  Trevor Castillo added three hits and an RBI.

The series finale on Saturday saw the Eagles fall behind early 3-1 and they couldn't close the gap as they fell 5-1.  Kevin Gameros and Joseph Bangle each had two hits in the loss.  Devin Combs was strong out of the bullpen for MSJC as he threw 2 1/3 shut out innings.

The Eagles are now 11-9 overall on the season and 5-4 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.  This week the team will travel to San Diego Mesa on Tuesday and Saturday and host the Olympians on Thursday.  The Tuesday and Thursday games will be a 2 pm while the Saturday game will begin at 1 pm.
