The MSJC football team celebrated Homecoming on Saturday by dominating visiting L.A. Harbor at Carl Quandt Stadium, winning 42-6 in their final non-league game of the year.

The Eagles scored on their first drive of the day as they marched 86 yards in 11 plays that took over six minutes off the clock as Brett Virgil pushed the ball across the endzone from a yard out on a quarterback sneak.  It looked as though Harbor would tie the contest on the ensuing drive, but an MSJC interception by Darryl Moody in the end zone stopped the Seahawks drive.  Just two plays later Sherod White would break free for an 83 yard TD run to give the Eagles a lead of 13-0.  MSJC would take advantage of another Seahawk turnover as this time Moody recovered a fumble at the Harbor 45 with just 9 seconds to play in the first quarter.  The Eagles would score on the first play of the second period when Virgil connected with C.J. Sullivan from 6 yards out and with a two point conversion MSJC led 21-0.  Harbor would finally find their way onto the scoreboard midway through the second when Axel Perez was able to nail a 45 yard field goal.  MSJC put one more ball in the end zone just before half when Virgil and Sullivan hooked up again, this time from 52 yards out to give the Eagles a 28-3 lead at halftime.

The Seahawks scored the first points of the second half as Perez again hit a field goal with 7:34 to play in the third to cut the lead to 28-6.  The Eagles nailed the door shut with a pair of late third period TDs as Virgil ran in another from 8 yards out and Sullivan made his third touchdown reception of the day from 21 yards out.  The fourth quarter was scoreless as both teams used a variety of players over the final 15 minutes.

White finished his day with an impressive 176 yards on the ground with just 16 carries, Virgil ran for 38 yards and two scores.  Virgil finished his day through the air going 14 of 18 passing for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Sullivan made 5 catches for 100 yards, Doryan Cole also made 5 receptions.

The Eagles defense was dominate on the day holding the Seahawks to 215 total yards, as they made 12 tackles for loss and had 7 sacks.  MSJC also forced four Harbor turnovers.  Steven Bradshaw and Dallas Frederick led the way on defence for the Eagles as Bradshaw had 9 tackles and a sack while Frederick had 8 tackles, a fumble recovery and a sack.  Moody also had a huge game as he recorded 8 tackles, a sack, an interception, and a fumble recovery.  Lata Aeau also had an interception for the Eagles while Kervin Jones, Scott Prohl, Sam Suggs, Joaquin Arredondo, Adrian Sanchez, and Shaun Cannady all had sacks.

The win moved the Eagles to 5-0 on the season while the Seahawks fall to 0-4.  MSJC will have this week off, before traveling to Victor Valley on October 19th.  The game at Victor Valley will kick off a 6 pm.
