Coach Schaeffer will be entering his 27^th year in coaching when the Eagles take the field in the fall of 2021.

Coach Schaeffer began his coaching career at his alma mater, Hilltop High School, in Chula Vista, where he was the defensive secondary coach and eventually the defensive coordinator in the fall, and coached track and field in the spring.

In the winter of 2001, Coach Schaeffer joined the college teaching faculty and the football coaching staff at Southwestern Community College, where he coached the defensive secondary.  Coach Schaeffer became the Jaguar’s defensive coordinator in 2006, while continuing in his duties with the defensive secondary.

In June of 2009, Coach Schaeffer joined the inaugural teaching staff at Murrieta Mesa High School, and was also named the Ram’s first ever head football coach.  Schaeffer served as the head coach of the Rams until 2016, he also had a breif stint as the head coach at Fountain Valley High School.  He earned the 2015-16 Positive Coaching Alliance Football Coach of the Year Award for the Los Angeles/So Cal Region.

Schaeffer has been on the Eagles staff since 2017 as the defensive secondary coach and is intstumental in all parts of the MSJC program.

A native of the South Bay in San Diego Coach Schaeffer played cornerback at Southwestern Community College and was also a wrestler and member of the track team at Hilltop High School in Chula Vista.

Schaeffer and his wife have one son and one daughter and have lived in French Valley since 2004.
