Casey Mazzotta is set to begin his 16th season as the head coach here at Mt. San Jacinto College in 2023.  His 2021 team won both a conference and Division title as they won the Mountain Conference title and won the American Championship Bowl to finish the season with a 9-1 record on the field.  The Eagles followed that this past year (2022) with a second straight conference title, and a second appearance in the Americna Division Championship Bowl, finishing the season 9-2.   It was the program's 3rd straight Bowl appearance and fourth in Mazzotta's tenure.  His 2019 Eagle squad had a succesful campaign as they ended the year with an 8-3 record and earned a spot in the Western States Bowl.  2021 also included a 7 game winning streak for MSJC.   In 2018 the Eagles finished the season 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the American Mountain Conference.  The program did not compete due to the Pandemic in 2020.


The 2012 Eagles posted a 9-2 record and competed in the Patriotic Bowl, earning the program's first bowl bid since 2005.  


Over the past 14 years MSJC’s win totals have steadily improved under Mazzotta’s leadership and the Eagle program has sent numerous players on to the four year level. More than 120 players have earned scholarships during Mazzotta’s tenure at MSJC highlighted by the 2011 team which had 16 members earn scholarships. The Eagles have also produced several All Conference and All Region players in the past few seasons. During the Mazzotta era at MSJC the Eagles also produced the State Defensive Player of the Year in Clarence Laster in 2009 and a First Team All Academic All Stater in Kyle Shaw in 2008.  This past season running back Sherod White was named the American Mountain Offensive Player of the Year.


Prior to his arrival at Mt. San Jacinto Mazzotta spent six seasons at Fullerton Community College where he was the defensive coordinator for the Hornets. The Hornets reached a bowl game 4 of the last 5 seasons he was at the school. Coach Mazzotta also spent five years as a head high school coach at Bellflower and Foothill High Schools. In the five years he was a head high school coach Casey’s teams reached the CIF play-offs each season.


Coach Mazzotta’s playing career began at Tustin High School, where he was an All City defensive stand out. Coach Mazzotta played community college football at Cerritos College where he was coached by his father Frank who is entering his 32nd season at the school. Casey has always been from a football family and his brother Frank Jr. is currently the head coach at La Habra High School. Following his graduation from Cerritos Casey received a scholarship to Brigham Young University where he played the final two years of his college career under Coach Lavelle Edwards. Coach Mazzotta earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from BYU and later his masters in kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University.

Coach Mazzotta has four children; Casey Jr., Connor, Carson, and Camille.
