Former MSJC men's basketball player Carl Brown has signed a professional basketball contract with the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Brown played for the Eagles from 2015-2017 before earning a scholarship to Cal State Northridge.  During his time with MSJC Brown helped the Eagles to a pair of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division titles and a two-year record of 48-17.  Brown earned All-PCAC honors after his sophomore season and in his Eagle career made 144 three-point shots and scored 673 points.  Brown averaged just short of 13 points a game his sophomore year.  He went on to average over 5 points per game his junior season at Northridge.

The Rattlers are based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and are one of seven teams in the CEBL.  CEBL rules limit each team in the league to 30% or less of their roster being comprised of non-Canadian players.  The Rattlers are the defending champions of the CEBL and are set to start their 2020 season in late July.

Brown is the latest in a long tradition of former Eagles who have moved on to play professionally all over the world.  An abbreviated list of former Eagles who have played or are playing professionally; Jamaal Tinsley (NBA), Dwayne Benjamin (Mexico), Josh Gouch (Finland), Sam Williams (Germany), Roosevelt Adams (Philippines), Lorenzo Keeler (Mexico), Melvin Goins (Greece), Dejuan Flowers (Lithuania), Marcus Sikes (Brazil), and Dane Johnson (Turkey).
