The MSJC men's basketball team had six players reach double figures in scoring Saturday as they defeated Palo Verde 99-89 in an Inland Empire Athletic Conference home game.
The Eagles got a jump shot from Jackson Bernardo with just over 15 minutes to play in the opening half to take a 13-11 lead and would never relinqusih it the rest of the contest. Despite never blowing the game open MSJC stayed in command as they led by 9 at the half 53-44 and led by as much as 14 in the second half.
Dasean Stevens and Isiah Shirley tied for game high scoring honors as they both scored 22 points a piece. Stevens added 9 rebounds and 6 assists to go along with a pair of steals. Isaiah Skinner had 15 points, 7 boards, and 5 steals for the Eagles while Azmar Sabb came off the bench to score 13. BJ Brown also reached double figures with 11 in the win.
The Eagles are now 21-2 on the season overall and 9-2 in IEAC play. MSJC will travel to San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday night for a key conference battle at 7 pm. The Eagles return home on Wednesday February 14th when they host Copper Mountain, also at 7 o'clock.
