Eagle Golfers Compete at Regionals, Blundell Qualifies for State

Five MSJC men's golfers competed in the CCCAA Southern California Regionals on Monday in Bakersfield with Kieran Blundell earning a trip to the State Championships next week.

Blundell finished fourth in the individual competition after shooting rounds of 72 and 75 in the 36 hole event. Blundell has now qualified for the CCCAA State Championships that will be played Monday May 14th at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara. Bernard Campos also had a strong showing at the Regional event in Bakersfield as he shot back to back 78's on the day. Tyler Galleher struggled in his first round with an 86, but bounced back to shave 12 strokes off his afternoon score to card a 74. Sam Proctor sot 79-82 in his two rounds of action and Tyler Leone had an 87 and an 80 to round out the MSJC scoring.

As a team this season the Eagles finished third in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference with a record of 30-18.

Blundell, Proctor, and Campos all earned First Team All-Conference honors. Blundell ended the regular season with the second best scoring average in the PCAC at 74.1.
