Eagles' Blundell Shoots 148 to Tie for 7th at State Meet

MSJC sophomore golfer Kieran Blundell finished in a tie for 7th place at the 2018 CCCAA State Championships on Monday.  The sophomore from Birmingham, England was just one stroke short of making the All-State team after shooting a two round total of 148 with back to back 74s.

MSJC men's golfer Kieran Blundell came up just one shot short of earning All-State honors on Monday as he shot 148 over the 36 hole CCCAA State Championships.

Blundell, who finished the regular season with the second best scoring average in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, shot back to back 74's on Monday.  The tournament being played at Sandpiper Golf Club

near Santa Barbara brought together players from the top eight teams in the State as well as individuals who qualified through their conference tournaments.

The top six individual scores in the event determine the All-State team for the year and two players tied at 147 for fifth to edge out Blundell.  Cypress College won the team State title with a two round score of 736, while Adam Nelson of Reedley College won the individual title shooting rounds of 69 and 72 for a two round total of 141.


Blundell a sophomore from Birmingham, England wraps up his stellar MSJC career with some impressive two year accomplishments.  Blundell was a two time All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference performer, twice finished in the top six at the CCCAA Southern California Regionals, and twice advanced the State Championship competition
