Two MSJC men's goflers had a strong showing at the CCCAA Southern California Regional Tournament, but came up just short of qualifying for next week's State Championships.

Conner Pierson shot 72/80 over the 36 hole event on Monday held at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.  Pierson started the day with a 72 on the North Course which was even par on the 6,698 yard lay out.  He followed that with an 80 on the rugged South Course which was playing 7,188 yards and to a par of 74.  His two round total of 152 narrowly missed out on him moving on to the CCCAA State Finals as the cut for the event turned out to be 150.

Velentin Plumier wasn't far off the pace either as he shot 75 on the North Course Monday and also carded an 80 on the South Course.  He finished just five shots of the qualifying number at 155.

College of the Canyons captured the team Regional title, while Jacob Montes of Palomar College was the medalist for the event.  Canyons finished with a team score of 726 while Montes had rounds of 68/71 to take home the individual title with a 139 total.
