Isaiah Torres will take part in the 3C2A State golf championships Sunday and Monday after a strong finish in the Regional Tournament last week.

Torres shot an opening round 70 and then backed it up with a 75 in the second round to finish in a tie for eighth place in the regional competition held at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills. His 145 total was eight strokes behind the winning score of 137 turned in by Hugo de Mollerat from Santa Barbara City College.

Torres came into the So Cal Regional after a strong finish in the Orange Empire Conference Tournament where he shot 73-78 in the one day thirty-six-hole event. He earned All-Conference status for posting a scoring average of 74.2 for the season which placed him in a tie for sixth in the OEC. Teammates Bradon Walker (79.6) and McLain Brigham (83.6) were next in line for the Eagles for scoring averages on the year.

Torres will now travel to Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside to play in the state tournament Sunday and Monday May 11th and 12th. Tee-times both days will begin at 8:30 am.
