Men's Tennis Wins Two in a Row, Advance to 3-4 on the Season

The MSJC men's tennis team won back to back home conference matches in the past week as they defeated Victor Valley and El Camino.

Last Thursday the Eagles easily defeated Victor Valley 9-0 to even their Inland Empire Athletic Conference at 1-1.  

Yesterday, MSJC won a close match against El Camino 5-4 to push their league mark to 2-1, they are 3-4 overall for the season. 

The Eagles led 2-1 after doubles as Anthony Torres-Martinez and Benjamin Taylor won their #2's match 8-0, and the duo of Anthony Walmer and Chad Hayes won at #3 also 8-0.  In the singles competition Walmer picked up a straight set victoy 6-0 and 6-0 while Chad Hayes won his sixth singles match of the season to improve to 6-1 on the year and even up the team score at 4-4.  The exciting conclusion came down to Justin Atas in the #4 singles match where he picked up the winning point earning a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

The Eagles will be back in action at home next Tuesday February 27th when they host College of the Desert in a 2 pm match.
