The MSJC women's softball team is off and running in the 2019 season, and will play their first home games of the year Friday and Saturday when they host a tournament at Wheatfield Park in Menifee.

The Lady Eagles have just one sophomore on their roster this season, so it may take a little time to make some adjustments. MSJC is off to a bit of a rocky start at 0-6, but will have a chance to bounce back this weekend with four games on their schedule. Destiny Sanchez a freshman from Citrus Hill HS in Perris is off to a fast start at the plate hitting .500 while fellow freshman Tiffany Borst from Moreno Valley Rancho Verde is hitting .333 with a team high 3 RBIs thus far. Borst and Julissa Ledesma (FR. San Jacinto HS) have handled the majority of the pitching duties so far this season for MSJC.

The Lady Eagles will kick off their President's Day Weekend tournament with three games on Friday. MSJC opens play at 9:30 AM Friday with a game against Alan Hancock College, that will be followed by a noon contest against San Diego City and a 2:30 match up with East Los Angeles. MSJC will play one more contest on Saturday when they take on LA Valley at 9:30 AM. There are 22 games in all scheduled for Wheatfield Park over the two day event, come out and enjoy some college softball to kick off the Spring.
