The MSJC volleyball team made more history on Saturday night as they picked up the program's first ever play-off win defeating Santa Monica 3-1 in the opening round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional.

The Lady Eagles controlled the first set and came away with a 25-16 win, Santa Monica would fight back to even the match when they won the second 23-25. From there MSJC regained control of the match and were never really threatened the rest of the way as they took the third set 25-18 and polished off the victory in the fourth with another 25-16 win.

Lauryn Patterson had 15 kills for the Lady Eagles to lead the way on offense, while Ruby Ruiz added 12 against the strong blocking game of Santa Monica.
