The MSJC volleyball team saw their season end on Tuesday night as they lost to #2 seeded Bakersfield College 3-0 in the CCCAA Southern California Tournament's Round of 16.

The Lady Eagles started strong keeping the first set even until late when Bakersfield took control to win 25-18. The second and third sets were also very competitive, but the Renegades were able to win by scores of 25-19 and 25-20 to win the match and move on to the next round of the tournament.

Lauryn Patterson led the MSJC offense with 11 kills and Ruby Ruiz added 8. Lannie Maffucci had 16 assists and Ariana Velasquez finished the night with 12. On defense Cynthia Arango had a team high 18 digs while Ruiz added 10 and two solo blocks.

The Lady Eagles season comes to an end with a record of 22-5, while Bakersfield improved to 25-1. This was a historic season for the MSJC volleyball program as they set the school record for victories with 22, made the CCCAA post season for just the second time in school history, and earned the program's first ever post season win by beating Santa Monica Saturday night in the Regionals opening round.
