MSJC Volleyball Wins in Three

MSJC's Faith Galvan #12 and Makenzie Nutting #16 helped the Eagles to a 3-0 sweep of visiting East LA on Wednesday night.

The MSJC volleyball team won a tight first set on Wednesday night and then pulled away to win the next two on their way to 3-0 sweep of visiting East Los Angeles.

The Eagles won the first game 25-21 and then won by scores of 25-18 and 25-15 to make it a sweep.  Makenzie Nutting had a team high 11 kills, while Jacquiline Leanos added 8, and Faith Galvan had 6.  Jacquline Barbosa dished out 33 assists.  On defense Barbosa also picked up a team high 10 digs with Keona Escorpiso had 9.  Leanos led the defense at the net with 3 block assits, Nutting, Savannah Page, and Barbosa all had two a piece.

The win moves MSJC's season record to 4-8, they will wrap up the non-conference portion of their season on Friday when they travel to Rio Hondo in Whittier for a 5 pm match.

The Eagles will begin play in the newly formed Inland Empire Athletic Conference on Wednesday October 16th when they travel to San Bernardino Valley.  MSJC's next home contest will be Friday October 18th when they host College of the Desert.
