MSJC Volleyball Wins at Victor Valley and Cerro Coso

The MSJC women's volleyball team won two more matches over the past week to make it six wins in their last seven contests as they defeated both Victor Valley and Cerro Coso on the road.

On Friday October 25th the Eagles rolled past Victor Valley in straight sets, winning 25-14, 25-10, and 25-13.  In that match Faith Galvan and Makenzie Nutting both had 10 kills a piece for the Eagles while Allison Rozell and Olivia Elliot both knocked down 6.  Setter Jacquline Barbosa had 25 assists in the victory.  On defense Galvan led the way with a match high 19 digs.

Last night the Eagles kept it rolling as they traveled to Ridgecrest and defeated Cerro Coso in four sets.  Nutting led all players on the night with 19 kills while Rozell also reached double figures with 10.  Barbosa had another solid day setting, as she passed out 42 assists. 

Defensively the Eagles were tough at the net as they had a pair of solo blocks and 8 block assists on the night led by Nutting's three.  Keona Escorpiso picked up a team high 16 digs with Angelina Castaneda and Galvan each collecting 10.

The victories improve MSJC's overall record on the season to 9-9, they are 4-1 in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference.  The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday November 6th when they host San Bernardino Valley at 5 pm.
