The MSJC women's volleyball team went on the road Wednesday night and came up with a huge win as they swept Chaffey to move into a second place tie with the Panthers, just a game out of the top spot.

The Eagles jumped out to a crucial 1-0 lead in the match by winning the first set 25-21, they would go on to win the second 25-17, and brought home the victory with a 25-20 triumph in the third.  MSJC used a very strong effort defensively at the net as they combined for a pair of solo blocks and 14 block assists in the match.  The victory avenged an earlier loss this season to the Panthers back on October 23rd.  The win also kept the Eagles in the hunt for the Inland Empire Athletic Conference title with just a week to go in league play.  MSJC is now 5-2 in IEAC action while Chaffey dropped to 6-2, College of the Desert currently holds a one game lead over both teams at 7-1.  Chaffey will host College of the Desert next Wednesday, meanwhile MSJC has back to back home games today (Nov. 14) and tomorrow as they host winless San Bernardino Valley and then Victor Valley.  The Eagles will wrap the season up with another home match on Wednesday November 20th when they host Cerro Coso.

Wednesday's win over Chaffey featured 11 kills from Makenzie Nutting and 8 from Allison Rozell.  Rozell also added four block assists and Keona Escorpiso picked up a team high 16 digs.  Jacquline Barbosa had 33 assists in the victory.  The Eagles are now 10-10 overall on the season with three matches remaining.
