Eagle Volleyball Opens IEAC Play With Two Sweeps

The MSJC volleyball team opened defense of their back to back Inland Empire Athletic Conference titles with road wins over both Victor Valley and San Bernardino Valley.

The Eagles opened conference play on Wednesday with a 25-10, 25-12, and 25-17 sweep of Victor Valley.  Mckenna Conklin and Kennidy Martin led the charge offensively as Conklin finished the evening with 12 kills and Martin had 11.  Trysta Vincelli dished out 23 assists while Chloe Mata picked up a match high 13 digs.

On Friday night the Eagles kept it rolling as they swept San Bernardino on the road 25-13, 25-21, and 25-9.  Brooklynn Thomas led the offensive attack this time with a match best 12 kills, Conklin added 11 and Martin 8.  Vincelli had 35 assists while Mata once again led the defense with 12 digs.

MSJC has now won four of their last five matches and are 9-7 overall and 2-0 in the IEAC.  The Eagles will host Chaffey College on Wednesday October 5th at 5 pm, it is their only match of the week.
