The MSJC beach volleyball team lost a close match to Arizona Mesa College on Friday, before coming back to shut out College of the Desert in a pair of matches played on the Menifee Campus.

In their first match of the day the Eagles lost to Arizona Mesa 3-2.  In the number one match the MSJC duo of Brooklynn Thomas and Josephine Springer won in straight sets 21-19 and 21-16 and the number 3 pairing of Trysta Vincelli and Megan Gajda also picked up a point for the Eagles with a three set victory.  Mesa won the other three matches in straight sets to take the victory.

The Eagles bounced back in match number two as they shut out College of the Desert 5-0.  Thomas and Springer again set the tone with a 21-10, 21-12 straight set victory, Gajda and Vincelli once again picked up a win as well as they won in straight sets in the number 2 match.  Carley Kruse and Brooklyn Jimenez at #3, Lauren Cummings and Lynsie Arnold at #4, and Tracy Blanchard and Anna Ayala at #5 all also won in straight sets as the Eagles dominated the match.

MSJC is now 4-2 on the year and will return to action on Friday when they travel to Santa Barbara to take on the Vaqueros as well at Mt. SAC.  The first match on Friday is set for 10 am.
