Beach Wraps Up Regular Season, Prepares For PCAC Tournament

The MSJC beach volleyball team concluded their regular season on Friday as they split a pair of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference matches, defeating Palomar 5-0 and losing to Grossmont 4-1.

The pairs of Lauren Cummings & Carley Kruse, Mckenna Conklin & Brooklyn Jimenez, and Megan Gajda & Trysta Vincelli all won in straight sets against Palomar.  Brooklynn Thomas & Josephine Springer as well as Anna Ayala & Tracy Blanchard also picked up wins in three set matches.  The #1 duo of Thomas and Springer came back to win after dropping the first set 20-22, as they won the second 21-17, and then the third 15-10.  Ayala and Blanchard won the opening set of their #5 match 21-19, before dropping the second 18-21.  They took the deciding third set 15-10 to complete the team sweep of the Comets.

In Friday's second match of the day aginst Grossmont it was the duo of Gajda and Vincelli who picked up the Eagles only point as they defeated their Grossmont counterparts 21-14 and 21-18.

The Eagles wrapped up the regular season with a record of 10-13, they will have the week off to prepare for the PCAC Tournament.

The PCAC tournament will be held on the Menifee Campus next Wednesday and Friday April 24th and 26th with action beginning both days at 9 am.
