Beach Season Off to a Fast Start

The MSJC beach volleyball team is off to a 2-2 start on the year and will be back in action in Menifee Friday.

The MSJC beach volleyball team is off and running for the 2025 season and after two weeks stand at 2-2.

The season began with a trip to Mt. SAC to take on both the Mounties and Riverside City College. The Eagles opened the year with a 4-1 win over RCC. Josephine Springer and Korie Milan got the ball rolling with an easy 21-8, 21-8 win in the #1 match. Megan Gajda and Brooklyn Jimenez started their strong week with a 21-12, 21-10 win at #2 while Amari Ramirez and Sienna Vitelli won at #4 21-10 and 21-9. In the #5 match Audrey Franks and Angelina Browder also picked up a victory as they also won in straight sets 21-15 and 21-13. The second match of the day was an exciting one, but the Eagles came up just short losing to Mt. SAC 3-2. Gajda and Jimenez won their match 21-15 and 23-21at #2 and Vitelli and Ramirez also picked up their second win of the day at #4 21-19 and 21-18.

Friday the Eagles again split a pair of matches, this time at home in Menifee. MSJC easily defeated Santiago Canyon 5-0 and lost to Hope International University 4-1. Santiago Canyon only had two pairs available to compete and the duos of Springer & Milan and Gajda & Jimenez easily won those matches. The Eagles put up a good fight against Hope International as all five matches were competitive, but only Gajda and Jimenez were able to pull out a victory.

The Eagles will return to action on Friday February 14th when they host both Long Beach City and Mesa (AZ). MSJC will play Mesa at 9 am and LBCC at 11.
