The MSJC beach volleyball team opened conference play on Friday with two 5-0 wins over San Diego City and San Diego Miramar.

The Eagles won four matches in each contest with both City and Miramar defaulting the number five pair. MSJC started the day against Miramar and a straight set win at number one by Josephine Springer and Korie Milan 21-12 and 21-10 set the tone. The number three duo of Anna Ayala and Jade Tolliver as well as the number four team of Sienna Vitelli and Amari Ramirez both also won in straight sets. Brooklyn Jimenez and Megan Gajda completed the shutout for the Eagles with a 21-14, 19-21, 15-10 three set win at number two.

MSJC continued to dominate in their second match of the day as they also defeated San Diego City 5-0. The Eagles used the same line-up and won three of four matches in sweeps. The lone match that went three sets was at number three where Ayala and Tolliver came up with a 21-11, 14-21, 15-12 victory.

MSJC was coming off a trip to Ventura where they split a pair of matches as they shut out College of the Desert 5-0 and lost to Ventura 4-1. Gajda and Jimenez earned the team's only point against the Pirates.

The Eagles now stand at 8-6 overall on the season and are 2-0 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference contests. MSJC will travel to Miramar on Friday to once again take on the Jets, they will also play Palomar. The first match of the day is scheduled for 9 am.
