The MSJC beach volleyball pair of Josephine Springer and Korie Milan won three matches last week on their way to a runner-up finish in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference pairs championships played at Mira Costa College.

The pair entered the competition as the number three seed out of thirty-four duos from seven different colleges. As a result of their seeding, they had a bye into the round of sixteen and on Wednesday won their only match of the day to reach the quarterfinals which took place on Friday.

Reaching the quarterfinals assured Milan and Springer a spot in the 3C2A Regional Tournament, but they continued to march toward the conference title with wins in both the quarter and semifinals. Unfortunately, they came up short in the title match-up as they lost in straight sets (21-15, 21-17) to Halbert & Keibel of Mira Costa, who were the number five seed entering the tournament.

Fellow Eagles Sienna Vitelli and Amari Ramirez came up just short of reaching the Regional Tournament as they reached the round of sixteen. Kalia Anady and Angelina Browder made it to the round of twenty-four.

The Regional pairs tournament will be held May 2nd and 3rd while the Eagles as a team await word on a team playoff spot which will be announced later this week. MSJC is hoping to qualify as a team for the first time in program history. The team finished the regular season 12-12 overall and were 6-6 in PCAC matches.
