The MSJC baseball team won a pair of home games and one on the road las week to sweep San Diego City in a key Pacific Coast Athletic Conference series.
On Tuesday MSJC won 10-3 at home behind a big game from Trevor Castillo at the plate. Castillo drove in three runs aon a towering 3 run homer in the bottom of the fourth as the Eagles struck for 7 runs in the inning to blow the game open. Castillo also scored three runs in the victory. Kevin Gameros scored a pair of runs for MSJC and Craig Venable added a game high 3 hits including a double and a triple. Benjamin Jacklin earned the win on the mound as he went 7 innings allowing just one unearned run.
Thursday's game at San Diego City was more of the same as the Eagles scored 7 runs in the top of the third on their way to an 11-5 win. Shawn McAdams drove in three runs for the Eagles while Rigo Cano and Castillo each drove home 2 a piece. Starting pitcher Andrew Shepard earned the victory on the hill going 5 and 1/3 innings.
In Saturday's series finale, Carson McCafferty had a strong start on the mound for MSJC as he went 7 innings allowing just one run on three hits while striking out 6 in a 4-1 victory. McAdams pitched two scorelss innings in releif to earn the save. Gavin Gates and Joseph Hauck had RBIs in the win.
The Eagles improved to 15-11 on the season and are 9-6 in PCAC action.
MSJC will take on Grossmont this week in a three game set with Tuesday and Saturday games in El Cajon, and a Tuesday 2 pm game here at home.
