The MSJC baseball team couldn't get the bats going Thursday until it was too late as they dropped a road game at Cerro Coso 12-7.

The Eagles did come out of the gates quickly as they scored a run in the first inning when Patrick McDonald Jr. drove in Jaden Jones with an RBI single to grab a 1-0 lead.  Cerro Coso would answer with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning and one more in the second as they took a 4-1 lead.  MSJC bounced back in the top of the third with a pair of runs on an RBI single by Simon Rangel and a Coso error to close the gap to 4-3.  The Coyotes then scored 8 unanswered runs to seize control of the game, before the Eagles pushed across four runs in the top of the 9th.  Ryan Grinnals and Jones both had an RBI in the ninth.  Andrew Rivero took the loss on the mound for MSJC.

The Eagles now stand at 6-2 on the year and will close out their abbreviated season with back to back home games Tuesday and Wednesday against Cerro Coso.  Tuesday's game will begin at 2 pm with Wednesday's game starting at 1.
