The MSJC baseball team played three days in a row to start the week, defeating Imperial Valley, but falling to Irvine Valley and West LA.

The Eagles started the week with a tough loss on the road at Irvine Valley 7-6 on Monday.  In that game Andre Torres had 2 RBIs and Phoenix Sommay had a game best 4 hits. Three of Sommay's four hits were for extra bases as he collected two doubles and a triple.  DJ Graham added a triple and Jaden Pickowitz had a double in the loss.

MSJC bounced back on Tuesday with an offensive explosion as they defeated Imperial Valley 21-5 as they had 19 hits in the game.  Ryan Grinnals had a huge day with 3 hits, including a homerun while driving in 5 runs.  Alec Bressler also hit a homerun as he blasted a three run shot in the bottom of the 8th.  Jaden Jones, Phoenix Sommay, and Nolan Smith each knocked in two runs for the Eagles.  Ethan Van Scoy picked up the pitching victory as he went 7 innings allowing just one earned run.

In Wednesday's game a rough start on defense saw the Eagles fall behind 8-0, before some late runs by MSJC including a 6 run seventh made it a close game, but West LA came away with the 12-8 victory.  Jacobsen, Sommay, Smith, Bressler, Michael Downtain, and Ross Panlasigui each had an RBI.  Demetrius Vizcarra was the tough luck loser on the mound in the game as he went 6 innings allowing just 4 earned runs.

The Eagles are now 5-3-1 on the season and have the rest of the week off.  The team returns to action next week with three road games, starting on Tuesday at Pasadena.  The Eagles will then travel to Imperial Valley on Thursday and Taft on Saturday.  Tuesday and Thursday's games are set to begin at 2 pm while Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
