The MSJC baseball team had an offensive explosion over the past three games as they picked up wins over Imperial Valley, Taft, and San Diego City with double digit runs in each contest.

The Eagles began their three game win streak with a 16-7 win on the road at Imperial Valley.  In that game Michael Downtain had 4 RBIs and hit a homerun to lead the MSJC offense.  Alec Bressler added 3 RBIs while Will Potter had 3 hits and a pair of runs driven in.  In all the Eagles pounded out 19 hits in the victory, and Derek Ryan picked up the pitching victory as he threw 2 scoreless innings.

MSJC followed up that win with another offensive showcase on the road at Taft winning that game 20-3.  This time Jaden Jones, Phoenix Sommay, and Potter all went deep for homeruns.  Potter drove in 5 runs on the day as he also had a double and a triple, while Jones added a double on his way to 4 RBIs.  Brody Brown and Downtain also got in on the action as each of them drove in 3 runs a piece.  Ethan Van Scoy pitched 6 shut out innings allowing just 2 hits to earn the victory on the hill.

Tuesday the Eagles kept it rolling as they won at home over San Diego City 13-5.  Jones was once again one of the offensive stars as he drove in 5 runs while going 5 for 6 at the plate with a double.  Sommay and Jaden Pickowitz had 3 RBIs each in the win while Sommay and Andre Torres each had 4 hits.  This time when it was over the Eagles had put 22 hits on the board.  Ryan once again earned the pitching victory, this time he went 6 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 4.

The Eagles busy month continues as they travel today (2/24/22) to San Diego City before playing at home against Irvine Valley on Friday.  Saturday the Eagles will open Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at Chaffey.
