The MSJC baseball team went 2-2 in a busy week on the diamond, defeating San Bernardino Valley and then winning one of three against College of the Desert.

On Monday the Eagles played a rescheduled game with San Bernardino Valley and came away with a tight 5-4 victory in 10 innings.  Andre Torres singled to left field in the bottom of the 10th to drive home Alec Bressler with the winning run, after SBVC had come back to force extra innings in the 9th.  DJ Graham had three hits and two RBIs in the victory, Brock Robarts ended up earning the pitching victory as he threw the final two innings for MSJC.  Nico Reyes and Dominick Lombardi added an RBI each.

The Eagles were right back at it on Tuesday and won another close one as they defeated College of the Desert at home 1-0.  Nolan LaChappa was strong on the mound as he improved to 7-1 on the season as worked 7 shut out innings allowing just 5 hits and striking out three.  Jack Siegel pitched a scoreless 8th and Trysten Eddy closed in out with a perfect 9th on the hill.  Kyle Serna drove in the only run of the game in the bottom of the 6th when he singled home Graham.  Torres once again came up big for MSJC this time on defense from right field, as he threw out the potential tying run at the plate with two outs in the 8th.

Thursday on the road MSJC jumped out to 1-0 lead after the first inning at Desert, but couldn't hold on as they lost 5-1.  Reyes drove in Graham for the Eagles only run of the day.  The Roadrunners would score 4 runs in the 5th and add an insurance run in the 6th to take the victory.  Pierce Sailer went 6 innings on the mound for MSJC allowing 4 earned runs and 7 hits.

The busy week wrapped up with another tough loss for the Eagles as they fell to Desert 5-4 in 11 innings in the series finale.  Desert scored first with one run in the top of 1st inning, but MSJC struck back to take the lead in the second.  Torres doubled down the left field line to score Christian Smith and Bressler to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.  Desert reclaimed the lead with three runs in the fourth, before the Eagles once again tied it up in the bottom of the fifth.  Will Potter drove in a run with a ground out and Reyes had and RBI single to left to tie the contest at 4-4.  That  would be all of the scoring in the game until the top of the 11th when Desert pushed across the winning run on a passed ball.  Chris Scovel, Robarts, and Eddy combined to allow just 3 earned runs on the day, Robarts was charged with the tough luck loss.

The Eagles are now 26-9 on the season and 13-7 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference action.  MSJC wraps up the regular season with another busy week as they play four games starting on the road Tuesday at Victory Valley.  Thursday the Eagles will celebrate Sophomore Day when they host the Rams at 2 pm.  MSJC will then travel back to Victor Valley on Friday and play at Chaffey on Saturday.  Saturday's game at Chaffey is set for 1 pm all other games this week are at 2 o'clock.
