The MSJC baseball team closed out their regular season with four games last week, the Eagles won three of them to clinch a spot in the CCCAA Regional Tournament.

The Eagles swept Victor Valley in a three game series; Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, before falling to Chaffey in their final game of the year.  MSJC started the week with a 7-1 win at VVC, four pitchers teamed up to allow just one run in the game.  Nolan LaChappa and Jack Siegel each threw three innings while Aidan Magana threw two and Trysten Eddy threw one inning.  Garrett Teunissen drove in three runs to lead the offense, Adrian Vento and Alec Bressler each drove home two.

In Thursday's home game against the Rams MSJC jumped out to a 6-0 lead and went on to win 8-3.  DJ Graham had 3 hits and 3 RBIs, Teunissen had two hits and drove in two runs.  Derek Ryan earned the pitching victory going 5 innings allowing just one earned run and giving up two hits.  Friday the Eagles completed the sweep at Victor 11-7, MSJC built a 9-0 lead after three and half innings and then held on for the win.  Josh McAninch and Dominick Lombardi each drove in a pair of runs Austin Sargent hit a solo homer and Pierce Sailer earned the pitching victory.

In the regular season finale on Saturday Christian Smith hit a homerun in the top of the first inning to give the Eagles an early lead, but Chaffey would come back to win the game 6-3.  Smith had a huge day as he singled home Nico Reyes in the fifth and then hit another solo homer in the 8th.  Chris Scovel took the loss on the mound as he threw five innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits.

MSJC finished the regular season with an impressive 29-10 overall record, they were second in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference with a league mark of 16-8.  The second place finish earned the Eagles a spot in the CCCAA Regional Tournament where they were awarded the #14 seed and will play a best of three series at El Camino this weekend.  The play-off appearance will be the first for the program since 2016.

The first game of the Regional will take place Friday at 2 pm, game two will be Saturday at 11 am.  If a third game is necessary it will be played Saturday 30 minutes after the conclusion of game 2, all games will be at El Camino College.
