The MSJC baseball team went on the road Saturday and swept West Los Angeles in a doubleheader to stay unbeaten on the young season.
The Eagles got a pair of great pitching performances in the two seven inning games. In game one, Joseph Romero went the distance as he threw 7 innings, allowing zero runs and only 2 hits while striking out 7 in the 4-0 victory. Christian Smith went 3 for 4 at the plate. Juni Rodriguez, Tanner Aoki, and Dominick Lombardi each drove in a run for MSJC.
In game two, it was Julian Castro who went the distance on the mound as he allowed just one earned run on 4 hits while also striking out 7 in a 5-2 win. Rodriguez knocked in a pair of runs with a double in the third and Austin Sargent drove in another as the Eagles took charge of the game with 4 runs in the inning. Sargent would add a solo homerun in the 6th to cap off the victory for the Eagles.
The Eagles, who are now 5-0 on the season, are scheduled to play at The Clash at Canyons in Santa Clarita Thursday through Saturday.
