The MSJC baseball team had a rough trip to Goldenwest on Tuesday, but bounced back Thursday with a win to split a pair of games with the Rustlers this week.

Tuesday MSJC fell behind 8-0 after the first inning and could never recover as they lost 11-2 on the road.  The Eagles' Austin Sargent scored an unearned run in the top of the 2nd inning and Josh McAninch picked up the MSJC's only RBI of the day in the third.

The Eagles turned the tables on Goldenwest Thursday, at least early on as they built a lead of 7-3 after 5 innings.  The Rustlers, however did battle back to tie the game at 8-8 in the top of the 9th inning.  MSJC answered with the rare walk off hit by pitch, when Kyle Serna was plunked with a pitch with the bases loaded forcing in Dominick Lombardi with the game winning run.  Lombardi had a big game for the Eagles as he had 3 hits including a solo homerun.  Adrian Vento had a pair of doubles and Greg Luna also had two hits in the game.  Pierce Sailer started the game on the mound and was solid through 5 innings, before struggling a bit and being removed with 2 outs in the 6th.  He finished the day allowing 5 runs in 5 and 2/3 while striking out 8.  Joseph Romero picked up the pitching victory as he threw the ninth allowing one unearned run and striking out two.

MSJC's scheduled game with Long Beach on Saturday was postponed due to incoming rain.

The Eagles now have a record of 13-3 on the season and return to Inland Empire Athletic Conference play next week when they take on Cerro Coso in a three game series.  Tuesday MSJC will play at home at 2 pm, then the Eagles travel to Ridgecrest for games Friday and Saturday.
