Jake Hansen took over the MSJC baseball program prior to the 2022 season after serving two seasons as an assistant for the Eagles.
During his second season in 2023, Hansen led the Eagles to their first 3C2A play-off appearance since 2016 as the Eagles finished the season with a 29-12 record. In his first season MSJC also posted a winning record as they concluded 2022 at 22-17-1. This past season, 2024 the Eagles again reached the 3C2A Southern California Regional play-offs and finished the sesaon with an overall record of 30-12. The 30 wins was the most for an Eagle baseball team since 2009. For his team's efforts Hansen was named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2024.
Hansen came to MSJC after most recently serving as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Post University in Waterbury, CT. While at Post, Hansen assisted with the offense, defense, recruiting, and organizing of camps.
Prior to his stint at Post, the Bakersfield native, spent the 2017 season as the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Bakersfield Christian High School. He began his coaching career at West Hills Community College in Coalinga, CA in 2016. During the past three years Hansen has also worked for the Bakersfield Baseball Academy, coaching and assisting travel teams ranging from 12U through college.
Hansen played at West Hills from 2012-14 and then transferred to Antelope Valley University to finish his playing career. Hansen earned a Bachelors degree in Business Management and went on to earn a Masters degree in Education.
