The MSJC football team improved to 6-0 on Saturday night as they won on the road at Victor Valley 28-12.

The Eagles and the Rams had a defensive battle in the first half as neither team could get on the scoreboard on a cool and windy evening.  MSJC would break the ice with 11:06 to play in the third quarter when Brett Virgil hooked up with C.J. Sullivan for a 35 yard touchdown pass to give the Eagles the lead 7-0.  After Victor Valley cut the lead to 7-6, Virgil and Sullivan connected again, this time from 28 yards out to give MSJC a 13-6 advantage.  A late third quarter TD by the Rams cut the lead to 13-12, but the point after failed and the Eagles led heading into the fourth period.

In the fourth the Eagles got some breathing room when Virgil ran in a score from 15 yards out with 6:02 to play to push the lead to 20-12.  MSJC then put the game away with 3:13 remaining when Virgil completed his third touchdown pass of the evening when he hit Rashoud Shelton for a 13 yard score.  The Eagles added a two point conversion to make the final score 28-12.

Virgil finished the night throwing for 201 yards to go along with his 3 TDs, running back Sherod White came up just short of 100 yards rushing as he finished with 97.  The Eagle defense was dominate on the night as they held Victor Valley to 181 yards of total offense.  Jayden Dawson and Darryl Moody each had an interception while Steven Bradshaw recovered a fumble.  In all the Eagle defense made 11 tackles for negative yardage.

The win improved MSJC to 6-0 on the year and set up a showdown Saturday October 26th with San Bernardino Valley.  The Wolverines will enter the game as the defending American Mountain League champions and have a record this season of 5-1.  The game Saturday will kick off on the San Jacinto Campus at Carl Quandt Stadium at 1 pm.
