Coach Yansane is a native of the West African country of Guinea and grew up in Maryland where he was a 3 sport stand out athlete in high school. Ultimately he went on to excel both academically and athletically at Lehigh University where he was a two time member of the Patriot League Football All Academic Honor Roll.

He also shined on the football field where he led the Mountain Hawks in receiving his last two seasons. Sekou also earned the 2009 Mid Atlantic National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCSA) Academic Momentum Award. The award is presented to top student-athletes who have demonstrated significant academic improvement throughout their collegiate career. Sekou earned his bachelor's degree in sociology. Coach Yansane also serves at the Assistant Athletic Coordinator here at MSJC.
