MSJC Men's Hoops Wins Two at Cuyumaca

The MSJC men's basketball team picked up two wins over the weekend as they defeated Cuyumaca Friday and Imperial Valley on Saturday in El Cajon.

In Friday's game the Eagles overcame a sub par shooting night to defeat Cuyumaca 61-44.  MSJC led by 10 at the half and never allowed the Coyotes to get closer than 8 points in the second half.  Isaiah Skinner led the offensive effort with a game high 20 points for the Eagles while Josh Hardiman added 13.  Anton Mozga pulled down a game best 18 rebounds in the victory and Danilo Da Silva had a game high 9 assists.

In Saturday's game the Eagles started fast and never looked back as they defeated Imperial Valley 107-46.  Hardiman was the Eagles top scorer in this one with 19 points to go along with 13 rebounds while Mozga also had a double double with 14 points and his second straight 18 rebound game.  Skinner added 13 points and 9 boards in the win with Isaiah Shirley and Jeremiah Mitchell both caming off the bench to score in double figures as well with 12 and 11 points in the game.  Da Silva had another solid floor game as he scored 8 points and collected 7 more assists.

The two wins even the Eagles record on the season at 2-2 and they will host their home opener this Wednesday November 17th.  MSJC will be taking on MiraCosta Wednesday with tip-off set for 6 pm.
