
The MSJC men's basketball team just couldn't get over the hump on Saturday morning as the Eagles fell on the last day of the Riverside Holiday Classic to Saddleback 79-69.
The Eagles fell behind early, but stayed in the game as they trailed by 6 at the half and stayed withing striking distance until the final two minutes.
MSJC had three players reach double figures in scoring led by Anton Mozga with 21. Isaiah Skinner added 17 points and Danilo Da Silva had 11 for the Eagles. Mozga also turned in a game high 15 rebounds for a double double, while Ethan Bell added 7 points and 4 assists. Josh Hardiman had 6 points off the bench for MSJC and Cameron Durr added 5.
The loss drops MSJC to 5-5 on the season while Saddleback improved to 7-4. The Eagles will play two Inland Empire Athletic Conference games this week before taking a short break for Christmas. Wednesday the Eagles travel to Joshua Tree to take on Copper Mountain College and then Saturday afternoon MSJC will host Barstow. Both games this week are part of doubleheaders with the Eagle women's team. Wednesday the men will tip-off at 7 pm and Saturday at 3 pm.
