Men's Basketball Suffers Back to Back Tough Losses

The MSJC men's basketball team lost two close games last week to fall to 4-3 in IEAC action.  The Eagles will host Victor Valley on Wednesday at 7 pm.

The MSJC men's basketball team suffered a pair of close Inland Empire Athletic Conference losses last week as they fell to Copper Mountain and Cerro Coso by a combined margin of 6 points.

On Monday MSJC led by one point at the half 37-36 before falling to Copper Mountain 76-80.  Isaiah Skinner had a big offensive game for the Eagles as he scored 25 points connecting on 4 of 5 three point shots.  Anton Mozga added 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Mekhi Hill and Cameron Durr both also reached double figures in scoring with 11 and 10 points.  Josh Hardiman added 9 points off the bench while Danilo Da Silva had a team high 5 assists.

On Saturday it was a heart breaker as Cerro Coso scored with less than a second to play in the game to pull out a 79-77 win over MSJC.  Durr led the Eagles with a game high 19 points in the contest as the two teams battled for the entire 40 minute game.  Skinner and Da Silva each scored 14 points a piece in the loss for MSJC, while Mozga pulled in a season high 20 rebounds to go along with 8 points.  Ethan Bell had 7 points and a pair of steals in the game while Hill finished with 6 points and 5 boards, Adrian Ludwig also had an impact on the game of the bench with 5 points and 5 rebounds in just 8 minutes of action.

The Eagles are now 9-9 on the season and 4-3 in IEAC play.  MSJC will host Victor Valley on Wednesday night at 7 pm as part of a doubleheader with the women's team.  The women's game will begin at 5.  Saturday the Eagles will travle to Chaffey for a 3 pm contest.
