The MSJC men's basketball team won their third straight game on Wednesday night as they built a late 10 point lead at Mira Costa and then hung on for the 72-70 road victory.

The Eagles built a lead of 33-28 at halftime and increased that lead to 10 at 70-60, before a heart pounding final three plus minutes of action down the stretch.  Mira Costa came all the way back to tie the game at 70 to set up the wild finish.  The Spartans even had a chance to take the lead, but a missed shot that led to MSJC's Jackson Bernardo finding a wide open Owen Wright under the basket at the other end for the game winning score.  It was Bernardo's 10th assist of the game.  The game ended with both teams turning the ball over in the final 8 seconds with the Eagles up two, before a desperation three point shot by the Spartans missed as the final buzzer sounded.

Dasean Stevens continued his red hot start to the season by leading all scorers in the game with 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting the field, he was 4 of 8 from three point range.  Three other Eagles finished the night in double figures as Mateo Blocker scored 13 and just missed a double double grabbing 9 rebounds.  BJ Brown and Alex Miller both had 10 points while Elijah Shirley came off the bench to add 8 points and 9 boards.

The win makes the Eagles 3-1 on the season, they will return to action on Saturday when they host Cypress College at 3 pm.
