The MSJC men's basketball team won their sixth straight game on Wednesday night as they defeated visiting Goldenwest College 91-82 in a non-conference game.

The Eagles got off to a fast start as they pulled away midway through the first half to build a lead of 49-32 at the break.  In the second half MSJC would extend the lead all the way to 25, before the Rustlers pushed back over the final 7 minutes to make the game a little closer.

The Eagles shot and shared the ball very well on Wednesday as they made 31 0f 61 field goal attempts including 13 of 26 from three point range.  MSJC also had an impressive 20 assists on their 31 baskets, Jackson Bernardo led the way in that category as he dished out a game high 10 helpers on the night.  Kyle Render and Cameron Durr led the offense in scoring as each hit four shots from long range.  Durr finished the night with a game high 26 points, while Render finished his night with 21.  Dasean Stevens also reached double figures in scoring with 15 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Alex Miller nearly had a double double as he scored 9 points and pulled in a game best 11 rebounds.

Last week the Eagles used a balanced scoring attack to easily defeat LA Pierce in a home game 98-62.  In that game Mateo Blocker and Stevens both had 17 points, while Render added 15, Durr 14, and Miller had 11.  Stevens also grabbed 8 rebounds and had 9 assists.

The Eagles are now 6-1 on the season and will return to action on Saturday when they host Imperial Valley at 4 pm.
