The MSJC men's basketball team fought through some adversity on Wednesday night to pick up a home win over Palo Verde to stay unbeaten in conference play.

The Eagles played the game with a couple of key players out of the line up due to illness, but the team rallied from an early defecit to win 92-85.  Palo Verde started the game on fire from the field and ended the first half making 10 of 23 three point shots, but MSJC stayed close and finally took the lead just before halftime at 48-45 behind 14 big first half points from BJ Brown and 11 each from Cameron Durr and Alex Miller.

In the second half the MSJC defense tightened a bit and held the Pirates to just 2 of 15 from long range before Dasean Stevens took over down the stretch to put the game away.  When it was over Stevens ended his night with a game high 28 points, he also hauled in a game high 16 rebounds.  Durr ended the night with 19, Brown 17, and Miller 13.  Miller also had a double double as he pulled down 11 rebounds in the contest.

The win kept MSJC perfect in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at 3-0, they improved to 11-3 overall.  The Eagles will face a stiff test on Saturday as they travel to San Bernardino Valley to take on the Wolverines who come into the game ranked #6 in the state.  Tip off Saturday is at 3 pm following the MSJC women's game.  The Eagles will be back on home on Wednesday when they host Copper Mountain.
