The MSJC men's basketball team got off to a bit of a slow start on Saturday afternoon at San Bernardino Valley and never fully recovered as they suffered their first conference loss of the season.

The Eagles fell behind quickly as the Wolverines made four of their first five three point shot attempts to jump out to a quick 12-2 lead.  The Eagles found their footing after that, but SBVC kept MSJC at arms length building a lead at halftime of 40-27.  In the second half the Wolverines slowly pulled away as they shot an impressive 53.5% from the field to win 81-55.

Dasean Stevens led the Eagles with a double double as he scored 19 points and hauled in a game best 12 rebounds.  BJ Brown and Cameron Durr both reached double figures in scoring with 11 and 10 respectively, Jackson Bernardo added 5 assists for the Eagles.

The loss drops MSJC from a first place tie with SBVC as they fell to 3-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games, the Eagles are 11-4 overall.  SBVC, who is currently ranked #6 in the state improved to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the IEAC.
