MBB: Eagles Score 68 in First Half on Way to Easy Win at Palo Verde

The MSJC men's basketball team got 52 shots off and made 10 three pointers in the first half on Saturday as they cruised to an IEAC win at Palo Verde 111-68.

The Eagles came out of the gates firing as the built a halftime lead of 68-28 behind 18 first half points from Dasean Stevens and 15 from BJ Brown.  MSJC kept the pressure on and when all was said and done they made 16 of 39 long range shots in the game and 10 different players scored.  Brown finished with a game high 23, Stevens with 22 while Cameron Durr added 14 and Elijah Shirley had 10 off the bench.  Alex Miller just missed a double double with 8 points and a game high 16 rebounds, Stevens had 13 boards.  

The win pushed the Eagles winning streak to 7 games and improved their overall record to 18-4, they are 10-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games.  MSJC's last loss came at San Bernardino Valley on January 7th and they will have a chance to avenge that loss this Wednesday when the Wolverines come to San Jacinto.  SBVC enters the contest Wednesday unbeaten in conference play.  Tip-off for Wednesday's game is set for 7 pm following the MSJC women's contest.
