The MSJC men's basketball team lost out on a chance to move into a first place tie with San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday night as they fell to the visiting Wolverines 96-76.

The Eagles built some momentum early in the game, but it was short lived as the first place Wolverines ran out to a 52-35 lead by halftime.  MSJC hung around most of the second half, but SBVC seemed to have an answer for every run the Eagles made.  SBVC finished the game shooting 53% from the field as they pulled away late in the contest.

Dasean Stevens ended the night for the Eagles scoring a team high 26 points, he also had 7 rebounds.  BJ Brown added 23 points and 3 assists.  The only other Eagle to reach double figures was Kyle Render who had 12.

The loss drops the Eagles two games behind the Wolverines in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference standings and makes their record 18-5 overall and 10-2 in league play.

MSJC returns to action Saturday with a non-conference home game against Imperial Valley at 3 pm.
