The MSJC men's basketball team overcame a five point halftime deficit on Wednesday night to win on the road at Chaffey 76-62.

The Eagles had 10 first half turnovers and the Panthers also got off 10 more field goal attempts as Chaffey led 35-30 at the break.  MSJC came out and dominated the second half.  A three point basket by Kyle Render with 13:42 left in the game gave MSJC a 41-38 lead and ignited a 21-3 run by the Eagles to put the game out of reach.  The MSJC defense allowed Chaffey to score just three points over the critical 11 minute stretch.

Dasean Stevens led the game in scoring as he had 22 points as well as 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  BJ Brown and Render both added 18 points in the victory.  Elijah Shirley pulled in a game best 17 rebounds.

The win locked up a second place finish in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference for MSJC as they improved to 13-2 in league play and 21-5 overall.  Chaffey fell to 18-9 overall and 9-6 in the IEAC.

The Eagles will play their final game of the regular season at home on Friday when they host Barstow.  Friday the team will honor their 2023 sophomores prior to tip-off.
