Men's Basketball Moves to 6-0 With Two More Wins

The MSJC men's basketball team picked up two home wins last week as they defeated San Diego Mesa and LA Harbor.

Wednesday night the Eagles took a 14 point lead into the locker room at halftime on their way to a 104-75 win over Mesa.  Five MSJC players reached double figures in scoring led by BJ Brown with 24.  Dasean Stevens was next on the list with 21 as he went a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line, he also dished out a team high 8 assists.  Isiah Shirley added 17 points and Isaiah Skinner had 16 and 8 rebounds.  Elijah Shirley recorded a double double for MSJC as he scored 12 and grabbed a game high 11 rebounds.  The Eagles shot over 57% in the contest and held the Olympians to just 38% while also controlling the boards where they out rebounded Mesa 47-33.

Saturday afternoon another double digit halftime lead led to a 99-78 win over LA Harbor.  The Eagles' balanced offense once again was the story of the day as the same five players all reached double digits in the scoring column.  This time Stevens led the way with 26, he also had 9 boards and a game high 7 assists.  Skinner recorded a double double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Elijah Shirley had 17 points and 8 boards.  Brown added 14 points in the win and Isiah Shirley had 13.

The two wins improved the Eagles to 6-0 on the season, they will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to LA Pierce.
