MBB; Eagles Pull Away in Second Half at Cypress to Stay Unbeaten

The MSJC men's basketball team led by just one at halftime, but then out scored Cypress 48-31 in the second half to win on the road 85-67.

Isaiah Skinner got the Eagles going in the first half as he scored 19 of his game high 27 points in the opening twenty minutes.  Elijah Shirley added 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the half to give MSJC the slight 37-36 advantage at the break.  Then it was Dasean Stevens in the second half who dominated the game for the Eagles as he scored 18 of his 22 to help MSJC pull away.  Tyler Frazier-Mathews scored 12 points off the bench as he connected on three 3 point shots in the second half.    Shirley ended his night with 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Jackson Bernardo had 7 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.

The Eagles are now 8-0 on the season as they head into the Riverside Holiday Tournament next week.  MSJC will take on RCC Wednesday at 6 pm to open the tournament.  Thursday the Eagles will play East LA at 2 pm and the team will round out the event on Saturday against Saddleback at noon.  All three games will be played at Wheelock gym on the RCC Campus.
