The MSJC men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season last week at Cerro Coso, but bounced back to win at home on Saturday against Victor Valley.

In Ridgecrest the Eagles fell behind early against the hot shooting Coyotes of Cerro Coso and could never quite get back all the way as they fell 91-78 giving the Eagles their first loss of the season.  Isaiah Skinner had a big game with 31 points and six rebounds for MSJC, while Dasean Stevens finished with 16 points. BJ Brown added 12 points in the loss and Isiah Shirley had 11.

Saturday, at home, MSJC bounced back to pick up a win over visiting Victor Valley as the Eagles pulled away late in the game for a 96-79 victory.  This time it was Stevens who surpassed the 30 point mark as he finished the day with a game high 37.  Elijah Shirley had a monster game for the Eagles as he scored 24 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.  Isiah Shirley also reached double figures with 15 points.

The Eagles are now 13-1 overall and 2-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games.  MSJC will host Pasadena on December 30th in their final non-conference game of the year at 3 pm, before hosting San Bernardino Valley at 3 pm on January 6th in a key IEAC match-up.
