The MSJC men's basketball team shot just under 56% from the field on Saturday as their offense carried them to a 102-77 win over Pasadena City College in their final non-league game of the season.
The first half was a high paced contest with the Eagles able to build an 11 point lead at the break after shooting an impressive 18 for 30 from the field, including going 10 of 15 from three point range. The shooting pace slowed down some in the second half, but a quick start to the final 20 minutes put the game out of reach as the Eagles came out of the locker room and out scored the Lancers 19-9 in the first six and a half minutes.
Four Eagles finished the day in double figures and a fifth came up just short with 9 points and the offense shared the ball with efficiency recording 27 assists on 38 made field goals. Dasean Stevens scored a game high 29 points and also grabbed 8 rebounds. Isiah Shirley added 26 points and 8 boards as he got off to a fast start with 16 in the first half. BJ Brown scored 15 points and passed out a career high 9 assists and Elijah Shirley just missed a double double with 14 points and 9 rebounds, he also had 3 blocks. Darius Mason just missed double figures with 9 points and Jackson Bernardo had 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and a pair of steals.
The Eagles are now 14-1 on the season and now will get back to Inland Empire Athletic Conference action when they host San Bernardino Valley on Saturday at 3 pm. MSJC is currently 2-1 in IEAC games and SBVC comes in at 2-0.
