The MSJC men's basketball team came out of the gates on fire Saturday afternoon in a key Inland Empire Athletic Conference contest as they built a 42 point lead by halftime on their way to a 98-83 win over San Bernardino Valley.

The Eagles shot a blistering 20 of 33 from the floor in the opening half, including going 13 of 23 from three point range as they built a 65-23 halftime lead.  Isaiah Skinner scored 22 of his game high 31 points in the first half as he connected on 5 of 6 three point attempts, BJ Brown added four made three pointers and 16 points in the first 20 minutes.  SBVC would even things out a bit in the second half as they fought all the way back to within 15, but the game was never in doubt for the Eagles.

Brown finished the game with 22 points and 6 assists, while Dasean Stevens added 20 points and 8 rebounds.  Jackson Bernardo just missed a double double as he scored 10 points and grabbed a game high 9 rebounds.  Isiah Shirley added 9 points off the bench.

The win improves MSJC to 15-1 on the season and 3-1 in IEAC play.  SBVC fell to 9-7 and 2-2.  The Eagles will travel to Copper Mountain on Saturday for a 3 pm contest, MSJC will return home on Wednesday January 17th.
